The Washington Monument has always been a landmark, but now the art museum that was built in the park will soon be home to the newest art exhibition in the world.
The National Park Service is opening a new exhibition titled Art Parkinson in the Park in 2019, opening in a historic park on the west side of the Capitol.
It’s called Art for Peace and will include works from artists like John Paul Getty and Paul Klee, as well as the iconic artwork of Edward Hopper.
Parkinson was designed by the architect Robert A.M. Stern, who designed the Smithsonian Institution’s National Gallery in Washington.
The park will house a collection of artworks from across the country.
The museum is expected to be open to the public in 2019.
