The best artist for writing about what it’s like to be trans in a world that is more accepting of trans people is the writer of the most famous trans memoirs, according to a new survey.
In a survey of more than 7,000 trans and gender nonconforming people, the New York Times found that the most successful writer was Kate Bornstein, the celebrated author of the 2015 memoir I Am Cait, which won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction.
The Times said it looked at how a writer “paints a portrait of a person’s life” and what that portrait looks like through the lens of their identity.
Bornstein was the first transgender person to receive the Pulitzer for fiction in the US.
She told the Times she was “blown away” by the response to the book, which has been praised for being “exquisitely written, beautifully told, and beautifully written about.”
The survey was published on Friday.
“My book has changed the way I look at myself and the way people look at me.
I have been privileged to be an advocate for trans people, and I want to share my experiences,” Bornstein said in a statement.
Bornsto say that despite the success of the book and the accolades it has received, she does not think it’s the most influential work of its kind.
“When it comes to how trans people are represented in the media, it’s really hard to top the Pulitzer,” she said.
“I don’t think there’s any other book that’s been written that has been so much better received than I have.”
Trans people are still a minority in the United States, and yet that still leaves a lot of room for us to be successful and not feel excluded,” Bornsto added.
The most popular memoir was by Caitlyn Jenner, whose memoir The Body I Am was released in November.
The New York Review of Books hailed Jenner’s memoir as “beautifully written, lovingly crafted, and exquisitely presented.”
But Jenner’s best-selling memoir is still not nearly as well known as Bornstein’s.
Bornstone’s memoir is a favorite of those who identify as transgender and was also the most-read memoir in the Times’ survey, followed by memoirs by Caitlin Moran and Liza Minnelli.”
We are still fighting to make our lives better, to live better, and to be more accepted and accepted for who we are.””
We are still on the cusp of a new wave of acceptance, but I believe we’re on the brink of a more inclusive world.
